Mio is busy studying for her exams, and wonders why it is that no one else she knows wants to do the same. Her friends spend too much leisure time as far as she is concerned, but she can't stop them from trying to get her out of her room to enjoy some fun with them, can she? Risu is still insistant that she should go somewhere with her, but as she keeps turning her down, she sees another friend and takes her away from all the stress of exam hell before it all starts. Everyone besides Mio has fun in the next few episodes.
For most of the cast of the Light Music Club, this second part of
the second series changes their perspective from being high school
students to having to take their exams and start to think seriously
about what they will do with their lives once they leave. This is a big
transition for them, and not something they can take lightly as there
will be a lot of hugging and tears as they might not be able to see each
other again. as they all have different responsibilities. Rather than
it being an overly cute standard 12 rated anime series as we are used to
when it concerns shojo aimed characters, there are a lot of personal
situations that the characters have to deal with in their day to day
lives; how to cope with the mass of school work they have to cram into,
their near lonely private lives outside of the school and its musical
activities, their lives around their friends they seem to grasp at in
the hope of feeling as though they actually have a life, and the fears
and hopes when they leave. Performance is another thing that they have
to deal with as there is a traditional culture festival and a final live
performance as well as a school marathon (we all remember those, don't
we) that gets the competitive spirit going.
As we have come to know, each character has their own personality
but highly exaggerated. There are the good natured humorous sequences in
this anime we have now come to expect, but the emotional sequences are a
surprise to anyone who has watched this series all the way though up
until now. It can be said that this also makes the series unpredictable
and at times interesting to watch in a way that hasn't been seen before.
It might not be to everyones taste, and to be honest if the characters
didn't pique your interest the first time, they might not now - however,
if you like this series or are a die hard fan of it, you will notice
the merits of watching it, the lighthearted comedy, the situations the
characters always seem to get in despite what happens, and the emotional
effort that is put into the series in general.

Verdict: Fun and upbeat - an all singing and alll dancing series of entertainment at its best!
