Let's face it, we were all waiting for it, the battle of Fairy Tail rumbled through the land and ended in the previous series. There was also the Fantasia Parade to look forward to for all the folks on Fairy Tail, but there were one or two disappointments like Laxus being sent away from the Guild and Lucy still not having any luck with men. After the festival the town had got back to normal if only for one snag, the people had not yet got over Laxus being sent away from the Guild. Natsu  is one of the worst hit by the news and spoke out about it.

Natsu wants to know why Gramps did it. he started a fight before, but Natsu has another agenda, he wants to get strong enough to beat him and now he's gone, he might not get another chance to spar with him. With Laxus being a dragon slayer, they were more alike than the others give them credit, but is that really the truth? The rest of " The Day of the Fateful Encounter," explains Laxus's origins. We can't forget the Miss Fairy Tail Contest though as the girls have waited a long time for the results to come out, even if the other girls will be annoyed at who the overall winner is.

"Special Request: Watch Out for The Guy You Like!" has a warning for any girl who wants to get noticed by the opposite sex when Juvia bought a potion from a wizard one night, and nearly destroyed Fairy Tail by using it. Now that Fairy Tail has got back to normal, what happens here on in might jeopardise the stability of the land. Most of the characters and maybe some of the men (when they aren't being bad or taking their tops off) Natsu constantly needs someone to fight, but that's just the fighting instinct in him, while Lucy needs someone to love. Fans of magical themed anime might like this as much as Negima?! or Demon King Daimo.

Available on DVD and Blu-ray.

Bonus Material: Episode 49 Commentary, Episode 58 Commentary, Textless Opening Song “EGAO NO MAHOU”, Textless Ending Song “HOLY SHINE”, U.S. Trailer, Trailers. (Please note that features listed above reflect the Blu-ray version of this title. DVD content may differ.)

Verdict:
Amazing, fun, adventurous and packed with interesting episodes about a land filled with magic - and Natsu!
