Build as "A film that will turn your world upside down," this is one of the most original sci-fi movies in the past few years. With stars such as Yukiyo Fujii, Nobuhiko Okamoto, Shintaro Ohata, and Shinya Fukamatsu, the movie is sure to win the hearts of viewers everywhere. It is the sort of movie that will remind you of such heart warming classics from Hayao Miyazaki with an unusual theme, a topsy-turvy feel and animation that is crisp, clear and looks very real.

The basic premise is that Patema, a princess of a subterranean community goes wondering around mazelike tunnels and caverns of her land, and the 'danger zone' just happens to be one of them. When she falls into a deep chasm, she discovers she doesn't injure herself as she thought, but falls upwards in the strangest way possible. It is teen, Age who tells her about the weird world she has fallen into, that is is the kind of world no one would want to live in where its population are banned from looking up - and people on the other side are seen as evil. The Secret Police are after Patema and her new friend who want to find out the truth behind their two opposing worlds.

Patema Inverted blasted out as a net animation before being made into a movie; Patema Inverted: Beginning of the Day showed in 2012 as a four episode OVA series. It also won the Audience Award & Judges Award at the 2013 Scotland Loves Anime film festival as well as being nominated for Best Animated Feature Film at 2013's Asia Pacific Screen Awards.

Out on standard DVD/Blu-ray Edition and Collector's DVD/Blu-ray Edition 1st December and Ultimate DVD/Blu-ray Edition 24 November.
