A chaotic start with a mighty battle between the Marines and pirate followers of Instructor Z who seems to act as though they are either brainwashed by him or totally devoted to his teachings.

Viewers will be familiar with one of the weapons used, the Yata Mirror as it has also been used in Naruto by the Uchiha clan. The battle soon changes to being one between Admiral  Kizaru of the navy and Instructor Z, formerly known as Zephyr, which is a name he seems to hate. What is amusing is that the admiral looks a lot like Marinoshin Omaeda from Bleach.

After their reunion, back in the world of Luffy and his crew, they are having fun doing their chores. Saonji is serving the ladies his latest delicacies and ending up having to make a load of dishes for the rest of the crew, but volcanic ash stops their enjoyment as they wonder where it's coming from. Investigating the ash  might be tricky as they find a shipwrecked sailor who they hope isn't going to be trouble for them. When Chopper saves him, he soon regrets it as he knows who he is later on - and once he finds out they are pirates, he wants to kill them. His minions are along too, wanting desperately to destroy the Sunny.

In One Piece Z, there is a good mix of drama, action and humour which explains the story. The characters are colourful, comical and some of the more interesting as they crop up at the most unexpected of times. Once the shipwrecked sailor is picked up we already know it will go pretty bad, but we don't care as it's all part of what makes One Piece one of the most feelgood anime series around. We love it when things go wrong for the crew as Luffy always keeps his positive head on while the rest of the crew might not be up to the challenge.

Bonus Material: None

Verdict: Picking up a shipwrecked sailor has never been so much fun - ever in this latest in the One Piece movies.
