Being a new student has its bonuses but also its own problems, at least for Tada Banri who has started out in Tokyo as a new student at a private law school. His attempt to distance himself away from where he last lived, he ends up making friends with Mitsuo, a fellow student, but his dreams are shattered when Mitsuo is slapped by a girl who turns out to be his once childhood friend, Kaga Koko!
As the majority of anime of a romantic nature revolve around a boy and girl falling for each other in high school, this one is different as it's based at university. There is a lot of destiny talking here with Tada bumping into Mitsuo outside the Law School as though he is supposed to, and Mitsuo's old friend, Koko slapping him around with her flowers the first time she catches sight of him. Her reason for doing this is that Mitsuo has allowed Koko to be clingy toward him for a long time, but now he's got older, she's annoying him. Her annoyance at him is also due to him wanting to go to another university - just to get away from her!
Mitsuo's intention to leave her without telling her doesn't stop Koko when she enrolls in the same class as him - shock soon follows, but you kind of get to feel sorry for her as she has a devotion to him many wouldn't have to a male outside of an anime and because of her unwavering pursuit of him, she has no life of her own.
As most romantic comedies are based around the ever popular harem theme, this is a refreshing and interesting anime that breaks the boundaries of what anime concepts should be about.
