Three species battle it out for supremacy in what are called Garm Wars, Briga, Columba and Kumtak are the clans and the story starts with Khara, allied with the Columba and ends up being the heroine in this movie coming upon a Kumtak mystic, Wydd after a huge and powerful battle that would have ended everyone if it wasn't for the need to keep them in the plot.

Wynn tries to get the message across to Khara that there is a whole host of spiritual and unusual belief systems that revolve around the story and become meaningful to the plot. Formerly there were eight tribes, now there are three,so you get the idea there was a lot of disagreement before Khara came along and there's a lot she still needed to know if she was to do anything about it. Of course, the warring will never end, unless Khara can turn things around.

Khara is given the choice of living in the war torn middle of this existence or deciding to go along with Wynn and his men to make a difference. It is strange to think that Wynn would betray her, but it might just turn out that way as Wynn isn't exactly a "good" person to start with.

It's an odd plot, but a beautiful looking hi-res sci-fi many will enjoy considering its director, Mamoru Oshii who did Ghost in the Shell has put so much effort into it having his signature look. Here he has worked with co-director, Atsuki Sato to create the sort of animation that would look as updated as he imagined, considering his ideas were from the late nineties. So impressive it had been featured at Cannes, many might think this, like The Sky Crawlers anime previously gave the impression it had it in the graphics and imagery and also had a strong plot. Garm Wars is no different as it is a detailed and wonderful computer generated animation that many fans of not just Oshii, but others who have experienced a near perfect representation of an almost live-action movie made from their favorite anime series.

The story is sound, and the visuals are more than gripping with Lance Henriksen, Kevin Durand and Melanie St Pierre looking like they are enjoying themselves in this fun and visually spectacular sci-fi romp.

Bonus Material: Trailers for other series.

Summary: If you like Ghost in the Shell, this is for you - if you like sci-fi or anime, don't miss it!
