For four seasons now, Yugi has pondered about his past and how he could have possibly got to become the fighter he has without the Pharaoh's help, and now he is close to finding the answers thanks to the three god cards he now has in his possession. Yugi is pleased that the cards are back in the pack and they can take the journey to the museum where they can be appreciated, but now is not the time. Now they are enjoying a well-earned break from fighting where Yugi has the girls fighting over him!

Unwanted Guest, Part 1 has Yugi needing to also take a break from Joey and the rest of his friends for some peace and quiet as they are always squabbling, but when Mokuba, Kaiba's sister comes in a helicopter to see them, it can only mean business. She tells Yugi she wants him and two of his friends to duel at a grand opening of the new Kaiba Land Theme Park, but they think it's weird that Kaiba doesn't want to compete in the tournament.

You get the impression that Mokuba is doing them a favour, but it's all an elaborate plot for Kaiba to get his revenge on Yugi for beating him in the previous tournament. This time around, Kaiba's not entering as he has confessed to having too much work to do on opening the theme parks around the country. The reason Mokuba has come is that she wants Yugi to participate in the World Tournament Championship where all the top ranked combatants will get the chance to fight each other to see who's the best. All three, Yugi, Joey and Rebecca are given tickets to Kaiba Land where they can enjoy themselves before the tournament starts.

While Joey likes that he can go on any ride, Yugi is annoyed at Rebecca's advances toward him. In the Kaiba Dome, our intrepid duellists get to look around the new state of the art stadium where players can duel against a super computer. This is when the story turns bad, with an anonymous player hacking the computer and making Yugi step up to fight him - to the death, it seems.

This whole fun-packed series of episodes is only the precursor to one of Yugi's most dangerous tests yet, where he is transported back 5,000 years to battle an even greater evil. With Yugi trying to get Yami Yugi to help him out with his troubles, including female attention, Joey makes fun jokes about computers and even a surprise guest comes into the early part of the competition who gives Joey an amazing fight. Although this is an early anime with limited CG effects, it still proves to be an enjoyable watch, the cards being one of the main draws. Some of the most interesting summoned in the episodes were; Ancient Tome, Guilford the Lightning, Ride of the Valkyeries and my personal favourite, Scapegoat.

Bonus Material: None.

Summary: IF you read the manga, you'll love this as the anime has made it as close to the original manga as it could - and it's great!!
