Set after the Battle of Yavin and the Death Star's demise, young girl, Zarro wants to free her imprisoned father from the mines. She is powerless, that is until fate arranges a meeting between her and famed wookie, Chewbacca.

He has his own battles to fight alongside his friends, but Zarro convinces him to help free her father and the slaves who are under the control of Jaum who makes them work off their debts. It doesn't help Jaum is in league with the Empire and plans to work Zarro to death when she returns to see her father.

Chewie knows he can't lay in the fields taking in the sun forever, he has to help her out, and this leads to some interesting and funny interludes in this comic,. and there's a fair number of in-jokes to please avid Star Wars fans about always letting a wookie win, a gonk droid, and one droid who says "thank the maker," just like C3PO.
