Subaru gets to school bagging her telescope (her most treasured possession) but when she gets there she finds out she ahs unlocked the very door into a magical realm she's not supposed to enter, or even know about.
She's not very bright, some might say dumb, but she has the ability to get into places others can't by touching or walking on areas that are guarded by a magical symbol - once she goes through the door, she meets familiar students who are at the school, only dressed in different clothes. Could these be magical girls?
Aoi-chan, Nanako and her friends are surprised to see her and also amazed she can actually seen them.

Subaru is shocked at seeing Aoi-chan there at her school as she left and went to another one, thinking she had abandoned her, when it is Aoi-chan who thought she did the same to her. Aoi-chan wanted to change magically as she couldn't as an ordinary girl, though since she has become a magical girl, she has been doing things no one has ever managed, like changing and trying to capture pieces of the President's space ship. Fort the record, they still haven't captured one, but that doesn't stop them from trying. It doesn't take long for the explanation about the ship. Seven years ago, Aoi-Chan was in a spaceship that had an accident, and a part of the engine broke off. Ever since then, they have tried to use their summoning circles to cut pieces off of it. Their last ditch attempt to capture one piece actually gets them a result, though their result is only after Subaru insists that she might make a difference to the group if she joins it.

Wish Upon the Pleiades has the cuteness factor turned up to full with lovely gowns, a pink elephant teapot and a cup with a smiling sun on it and one with a bear head. Did I mention the even cuter Pleidians that resemble bubbles with ears. These cuties can summon objects from thin air so they can come in handy. Though they did remind me of Sailor Moon, big yellow stars, colourful weapons and pretty girls who can change into their own plush ball gowns.

Subaru's gutsy determination earns her the bonus of being considered the saviour of the group despite a rival who wants the same pieces of the spaceship, and according to Subaru looks like a boy. Wish Upon the Pleiades is infectious and comical with Subaru playing the loveable klutz with a strong heart and love enough for everyone.

Bonus Material:  Clean Opening Animation, Clean Closing Animation, Also Available from Sentai Filmworks.

Summary: It's fun here with a capital F - and more besides!
