Remember early on in the series we got to see all the pirates' wanted posters and how much they were worth? We are reminded of how much of a bounty is on Luffy's head, but as he is powerful and bendy to boot, he is sure to see-off any enemy fighters.

Continuing the drama surrounding the Government controlled island, the outcome of the pirates lack of freedom speaks for itself much of what businesses used to thrive is now desolate. This gives viewers who are not youngsters an interesting social commentary on what happens during a global recession. The place the straw hats are now heading for is the humorously titled Shakky's Rip-Off Bar. They need to get their boat fixed ready to set sail for Fishman Island, but they have one problem he's nowhere to be found and the only place he is likely to be is in the Lawless Territory!

As we are all aware there is a big hierarchy among pirates and there are those who have a higher bounty than Luffy. Take for example Capone Gang Bege who is obviously a pun on the infamous gangster Al Capone. He has a lot of berries on his bounty just like Jewelry Bonney the glutton, Basil Hawkins the Magician is higher still while Scratchman Apoo aka Sea Roar is a strange looking guy with an even higher bounty. Its fun to watch each character to see how crazy they look. But before we get to see anything serious  Luffy and the Straw Hats have some down time when they visit an amusement park where they need to go. When we get right down to it part of the time Luffy and co. are avoiding bounty hunters, navy types and going after the bad guys who kidnapped a mermaid and plan to sell her to the highest bidder. Though with Duval around from the Fishmen, she should end up in good hands.

Every episode acts as an adventure with strange characters who like them act even stranger and the result being they fit right into the anime. One Piece deals with some sensitive topics such as slavery, murder and kidnapping and handles them well. The Human Auction sends up what would have been a harrowing subject to tackle but it seems crazy to the viewer as they end up laughing at the characters who are bidding.

Overall, One Piece has developed into a pirate comedy that has touches of seriousness in it at times yet it doesn't lower its fun tone as we know Luffy and crew will sort issues out.
